Am I running current Software?

How do I know if my wk2 has the most recent software update? I picked it up less than a month ago brand new and I am not sure how long it had been at the out of state dealership it was found at.

Re: Software Update

All of it. I have read a couple of threads about a software update correcting or at least making the shift points better. I was just wondering how to check or if theres even a way to.

Re: Software Update

Milous can check what updates have been done if he knows the last eight digits of the VIN. But maybe this service is only for supporting members.

You could also ask your dealer for a printout of what has been applied, then compare it to the TSB list:

Re: Software Update

When you purchase your car, the dealer is supposed to apply applicable TSB's to the vehicle. Afterwards only if you complain about a certain issue will they apply TSB's to the car. They're on a "if it aint broke don't fix it" attitude when it comes to TSBs. All you have to do when you want a specific TSB applied to your car is to "complain" about the issue at hand and they'll do it. Dealerships love warranty work since it gets paid for and they don't have to hear about the owner bitch about the invoice afterwards.

Re: Software Update

Thanks guys, I'll double check if I have that print out and get in touch with my dealership. Sometimes shifting from park into drive is harsh, but its the shift between i think 3 and 4 manually that is messy.

It could be the vehicle "learning" your driving style. I had the same issue (bought mine used), and it went away in around 1K miles.

Re: Software Update

I think there is a recent TSB regarding the "clunk" when shifting P-N-D, i have the issue, but will get it taken care of when my oil light shows up. My shifts 2-4-5 are beautiful when on load (only time when i feel the need for manual shifting). Shifts will get sloppy when not under load or when modulating throttle in manual mode

Re: Software Update

fryd I think waiting for the oil lights the way to go. The iffy shifts have become a little better and when it does happen (in either mode) its when on the light load side. I'll mention it to the dealer when I bring it in. Its not a huge concern, but if it gets better well hey its better.
