Sprint booster

Has anybody with a 14 or 15 grand Cherokee installed one of these sprint boosters? I hear it's suppose to help with any lag felt from the throttle but just want some feedback on it. Here's a link

aFe Power 77-16204 Sprint Booster (Non-CARB Compliant) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013JL6X5M..._8g.jxbXCSB921

Re: Sprint booster

I have one on my 09 gen 2 4.7. It works great eliminated throttle lag. Going to purchase one for my 15 altitude soon. I believe member ajag has one on his 14 or 15 maybe he can chime in. Worthwhile investment IMO.

Re: Sprint booster

Just installed it for my 3.6L 2012 Overland (which would be almost the exact same setup you'd be buying) and it's incredible. I cannot believe I waited as long as I did to buy it. I was able to find it on eBay for half the cost, and even at full cost it's worth it. The 3.6L was annoyingly slow and laggy, but not with the Sprint Booster. The best part, is I never use the controller. Per the directions, you can install it, change it to either red or green (I did green for daily driving), and unplug it. Then, when the Jeep turns on it's already on green. I never plan on using red (race) so it's perfect. A+ by my standards.

Re: Sprint booster

It's even better on red(race setting). I leave it on red all the time. The lag on my 09 is horrible. I will be picking one of these up for my 15 altitude.

Re: Sprint booster

I just ordered one from Amazon. Found one Used Like New. Original packaging intact. New ones were $290.00 this one was $164.15. Undamaged packaging sounds like someone changed their mind and sent it back. Free two day shipping. I guess I'll know by this weekend if it works or not. Will update when the part gets here and I've had time to play with it.

Installed my Sprint Booster today. I absolutely love it. I have been afraid of mods that would raise horsepower and move torque even higher up the rpm scale. I wanted to keep what little low end grunt there was. This booster removes the lag, makes passing cars effortless, and gives you the feel of more useable power where and when you need it. It makes auto mode feel like an enhanced sport mode. I haven't tried it in sport mode yet but can imagine an impressive difference. For those that don't want or need a full on tune I think you will be more than satisfied with this upgrade. I highly recommend it. Night and day difference. Bring on those limp wristed Brand X V8's!!

That was a sweet deal. I was just comparison shopping and when I checked Amazon I noticed they had a used one listed. When I clicked the used link I saw it was being sold by Amazon Warehouse. It was still in original packaging and looked and operates like brand new. I assume it was just a return. Keep checking back there, another one may turn up. I'm still smiling after my test drive.

Re: Sprint booster

I was checking these out also. It looks really simple to install just not sure how to unplug the current module? is there tabs on the side that you squeeze?

Also, I do notice I have a slight lag from a dead stop. Does it help from a dead start?

Yes you can tell how to release the tabs on the original by looking at the tab on the booster.
Lag is completely gone from dead stop but you can feel the difference anytime you accelerate.
