SRT8 exhaust on 3.6

So I posted earlier that I got a cat back exhaust from a 2012 SRT8. Today it was installed in my 3.6 Laredo. It was direct bolt on although the bolt holes in the manifold and mid muffler flanges didn't line up exactly. Started her up and their were no leaks. Drove home about 15 miles on back roads and some highway to a nice mellow rumble. Didn't notice any loss in power, and actually I think it responded better but could be my imagination. Up next is a CAI and diablotune.

Thank you for posting this!! I took my cat-back off my SRT for a Corsa, and my buddy and I were thinking that it would bolt onto his 14' 3.6L with the exception of the main canister muffler (suitcase) off of the SRT. Did you utilize the whole SRT system? Or did you keep the 3.6L main muffler? Did the tips line-up with your lower rear fascia openings? We were thinking to cut the pipes just after canister muffler (before the pipes begin to), then adding two Magnaflow mufflers with custom bent piping to the OEM flanges. I cut my resonators off so this should provide him a great sound. We put an eFe Momentum intake on his 3.6L and it definitely need to let more out now

Any pics/tips are greatly appreciated...sound clip would be awesome! Thanks in advance

Re: SRT8 exhaust on 3.6

Sorry for taking so long to respond. The flanges that connect the exhaust from the engine to the mid muffler is what I was referring to. The holes were off by an 1/8 inch or so but we were able to get them on. I used the mid muffler from the SRT8 I got the exhaust from and I got the entire exhaust back except for the tips. I'll try and post pics later when I get out of work.

Re: SRT8 exhaust on 3.6

Here's a picture as requested. I ended up getting Dynomax 4" tips in Chrome. As you can see the tips line up perfectly in the stock opening although I still have to adjust how far they stick out (right one sticks out too far for my tastes). I have a video of the sound and will try to upload at some point.

Re: SRT8 exhaust on 3.6

Stock SRT exhaust is actually pretty tame even on the SRT, does this sound any different than the original exhaust you took off? Tips look good!

This exhaust is definately "throaty" compared to the stock single exhaust I replaced. It's very quiet at idle and light acceleration but give it gas and you can hear the difference. in particular the "chirp" when the springs in the exhaust open up.

Humm interesting, I would really like to hear that. What's really cool for someone like me with a High Altitude is I think the exhaust tips clamp on exactly the same. My rectangular tips would probably clamp right on just like the SRT ones do.
I have even heard a V8 Corsa and Borla system installed on the V6 and it doesn't sound half bad.
