Stock Intake and Exhaust...

Ok, Although I've only had my Hemi for about 10 days now and I maybe getting a little old, is 46 old? Anyway, some opinions, Jeep seem to have put a fair bit of effort in designing the intake tract, collecting cool air from under the front of the hood and a large air chamber in front of the throttle body, looks ok and sure does sound good when I floor it, can there really be any advantage in tearing it all off and putting an over priced piece of pipe there with a pod stuck on the end of it sucking warm air.... I wonder? Same with the exhaust, apart from what seems an oversized muffler, it all clears the body well with fairly large diameter pipes that do not drone inside the cabin, Ok, I agree it could have more of a V8 burble at idle, but once again is it worth ditching for a droning body fowling nightmare of an exhaust, that often come in kits that never seem to fit just right....Right or wrong? any thoughts.... I'll get off my soapbox before I fall off....

You've already figured out the minuses to adding the stuff, and should have yourself talked out of doing it.

Re: Stock Intake and Exhaust...

Everything i've read, the intake is better for highway or rural driving, like i do. Hot air not just building up in the engine compartment and then the engine eating it all. So city or stop and go driving i wouldnt reccomend the intake. Thats what the ricer forums say for the most part.
