Summit E85?

Hi everyone,
I'm a newB and have a basic and perhaps dumb question.. But, what type of fuel can you put in the 2014 Jeep GC Summit? E85 only or 87 also?

Please advise,
Thanks!

Re: Summit E85?

As long as it's an E-85 rated engine, you can use 87 and higher.

Your owner's manual should explain that.

Don't believe anything you are told on the internet, including what I tell you, without verifying in the manual. In fact, you could save time by checking the manual first.

You can download the latest manual at Jeep.com . It is easier to search for things with the digital version than with the paper version.

Re: Summit E85?

You can used E85, or regular 87 and above. You also should be able to use anything in between. I think it recommends NOT mixing the two: 1/2 tank of E85 with 1/2 tank regular 87. During our Christmas trip, I saw E15, E20, E30, E85 at a Cenex station -- all stated they could be used in a Flex Fuel vehicle. I stuck with the Regular 87 (ethanol-free).

Re: Summit E85?

If I'm not mistaken, you cannot use E85 with the Hemi V8. I believe FlexFuel is only supported on the V6. Check your manual for specifications. You didn't mention what engine is in your Summit, unless I missed that...

You are not mistaken, E85 and the Hemi are not supported per the OM.
.... wonder how 50% nitromethane would be viewed.
