Re: Supercharger for 3.6 V6 in development

I dont see anything mentioned on their site about a WK2 supercharger, but sounds cool. Im usually all for power, but it would be tough for me to spend 6K+ to make a relatively slow Grand Cherokee....well, still slow for the most part haha. Even the new SRT8 isnt really technically fast for todays standards. I could see it making the V6 Grand Cherokee a little more exciting, but thats a LOT of money to put towards something that just isnt designed to be fast. And reducing reliability at the same time, and voiding your warranty, and who knows what else. Its just not for everyone thats all.

Hey,

Just joined here and just bought my first jeep. I have a 2007 laredo 3.7 and want to do the srt8 bumpers. Love your ride, it looks super solid. Could you tell me where you got your bumpers, how the fit went and any additionals you had to do with installing them?

Also did you re-route the exhaust to the center?

Thanks for your help!

Mike

I'd be very interested in getting a nice HP boost. I don't hate the performance when in sport mode, but that will not keep me entertained long...all in all, I love my 2014 Overland.

Looking forward to what RIPP comes back with.

You might as well trade in the 6 cylinder for a hemi v8, imho.

that is because the 3.7 in stock form will not hold up to the boost @ 6psi. the ring lands on the pistons is an 1/8th inch from the top of the piston and when you throw boost at it, you end up heating up and melting the ring lands even at 6psi...

kenne bell had a prototype S/C they had developing on the liberty back in 02/03. they had a 2.1 liter S/C on it and all the supporting mods. Tune and fuel system. It made 6 dyno runs before it blew, and before it did, the 3.7 put down 302hp at the wheels.

Now I believe that forged 4.7 parts will work in the 3.7, and with a rebuild one could get a 3.7 to see 18psi. I am doing all the research I can on this and feel a safe number is 10-12psi. with supporting mods it could see 550 RWHP. and still have a good safe margin
