Re: Swapping the suitcase muffler

They will fit. You'll have to look at your suitcase muffler to see if you need one or two. If your suitcase is a two into one, it'll be a little harder to install.

Re: Swapping the suitcase muffler

looks and sounds good but might be a bit too loud for driving I have to do down to DC every couple of months. Does anybody have another solution besides the flowmaster 10's?

Expect some type of fabrication work anytime you do exhaust.

You could go with one. Might want to ask an exhaust shop what the difference in sound will be.

I didn't want it too loud either but I don't mind. You could try the Super 10 Delta Flow mufflers. These are the Delta Force race mufflers.

In the pic I posted earlier, you can see where they welded in new segments of pipe.

Re: Swapping the suitcase muffler

I just went to the shop today and I just placed an order for 2 magnaflow 2.5inch round mufflers. He's going to cut the suitcase muffler out and install these babies. I already have a Gibson axle back exhaust that sounds good so with the magnaflows installed I'm hoping it will sound awesome. I'm hoping to have it done by next week.

Re: Swapping the suitcase muffler

So the suitcase is gone and two short magnaflows have replaced the suitcase. I have two dual straights for the 3.6 now and kept the stick reso's. The sound is quiet maybe a bit deeper. I asked them about an x-pipe and Lou's custom said it was not needed. It moves along good, about the same as before. Again not sure what an X or H pipe would give it different.

I don't know if I should get a retune from hemifever

Re: Swapping the suitcase muffler

this is a great thread. I'm looking to do this. It's hard to pop $2k down on a full system. Anybody know anything about GIBSON exhaust? A friend mentioned them - and had good things to say. But, I've never heard of them.

Im about to do something - I love the sound of the HEMI - BUT - Im not looking for loud - just a quiet rumble. sorta....
