Damn.. proof in the text that Jeep pulled a BMW customer into their court, as they intended.

Not hard to do. When we started thinking seriously about ordering one, we looked at Audi, Volvo, Cadillac, and Lexus, and the Jeep was every bit as nice as the luxury brands, had the same equipment, and was over $5K less with less expensive maintenance over the time we own the vehicle.

It may not be the on road sports car that some can be, but it will go places nothing but the Land Rover can even contemplate.

Re: Test drove V-6 today - Not excited

These 3.6's are very peppy after 1800-2k rpms. From a dig its a dog but once you get moving, its pretty good.

If there is an aftermarket for this engine, you can get some pretty good power from that engine.

I was impressed how that Jeep drove.

Re: Test drove V-6 today - Not excited

Comparing it to the 05 V6 in the WK it felt more peppier to me. I didn't get on it much until on the on ramp getting on the highway and also passing peopleon the highway.

Re: Test drove V-6 today - Not excited

Well, I joined as a level IV tonight, because this forum has been so awesome, and because there's no way I can get the V-6 or the "normal" V-8, and I'm going to need Milous to get the build information for me on my new SRT8. :-)

Re: Test drove V-6 today - Not excited

I have a 6 second DSG VW GTI as my other car and now have the v6 limited, I find its acceleration is actually very good. I run it in sports mode which gives it a more aggressive gear ratio and 80% to the rear, also I find and have to be a bit harder on the throttle than the sports cars, I dont know about you in the wrx but I have to tether the throttle to deliver speed more evenly in the GTI. In the v6 I find you can put down your foot a bit more, more often than not I am still way infront of the other cars behind or beside me, acceleration whilst cruising seems to be quite good too due to the constant torque delivery. I will investigate a CAI, exhaust and ECU remap when available and that will give it even more of a boost. All in all its not a sports car but very acceptable. Driving in auto mode does feel sluggish, also there is a TSB which manages how the gears are selected and stops any sluggish feel.
