There is plenty of room for exhaust on the WK2 with the independent rear suspension and the spare being located under the cargo area.
Some pics of both single and dual. And you're right, lots of room!

wk2overland is just really nice
Re: The V6 only have a single exhaust

some newer cars (BMW 335, E46 M3, etc) keep the second pipe closed off in low-rpm conditions to retain backpressure for low-end torque. a vacuum operated valve opens up at a certain point higher in the RPM range for more power though.
unless its just straight fake. like my buddys BMW 328. twin tips, only one side is hooked up to anything. heh.

Re: The V6 only have a single exhaust

crown vics are big boys- well at least the old ones were. a buddy of mine had an old police car 5.0 v8- shit had balls.

same car- maybe same engine components- not sure but the mercury grand marquis- my pops use to have one. it had a 5.0 v8 with no joke 4 cats underneath! that was my learning car(14yrs old) i use to steel the keys from the garage hooks and take it for a spin around my neighborhood. until the they found out- ah oh.. i got a whoppin! lol

ahh the days! lol

"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?"
