I remember back in the day my buddy had 5% on his old Grand prix, when backing out he literally had to stick his head outside the car it was hilarious :-)

I know it looks cool thats for sure, but for the purposes of the original poster, I say just get the two front windows tinted with 20% to match perfectly and be done with it. Looks amazing!

You learn to see through it IMO. It's dark, but I can see just fine. In reverse that's what the backup camera is for .

I have had 5% on my last three vehicles. Its my first mod to any new car. The beauty of having it on a Jeep is that the rear is tinted dark (18%) factory. Therefore it is difficult for a cop to see that i have illegal tint, versus say a sedan who has no tint factory and 5% rear glass is just obvious. All I really have to do is roll my front two windows down and you can't tell anything is illegal.

The one time my vehicles DID get pulled over for tint (in the last 8 years). Cop give me a ticket and told me to take the tint off and I had to go to a special shop or whatever for them to verify. Ha... I go to my buddys inspection shop, he passes me, i take it to the D.A. on the court date, show him my inspection slip and he lets me go. The D.A. doesn't care two shits about tint, he's dealing with rapists and murderers . Works like a charm and all it cost was $20 for something I had to do anyway.

I have never had any problems seeing out of it. I admit, at night, backing up I have to roll the front windows down. But I mostly back into spots anyway so its no biggie. In all reality 5% is probably not as dark on the inside as you think it is. Personally I see it as a must.

Going with 20% is illegal anyway so might as well go 5%. Thats just my opinion

But i think we can all agree on: some tint is better than no tint so go get it done!

Re: Tint?

i'm going to get suntek cxp 18 put on my fronts, suntex cxp 80 put on my front windshield and pano roof.

one installer i was talking to said he wouldn't put 3M on the pano because it would absorb heat. he recommended using residential film instead. but the suntek installer said it would be just fine to put film on the pano.

has anyone had suntek cxp film put on their sunroof?

Re: Tint?

I do NOT recommend tinting your windshield. Just do a strip on the top. That's all you need. You need 100% visibility. This is coming from the guy who has 5% all around including the strip. My buddy has his windshield tinted, granted its darker than 80% (not sure what %), but its retarded at night you can't see shit. I don know of a single benefit of tinting it.

I had a girl in the back of my jeep outside the club last weekend and my buddy was standing in front of the jeep being a pervert trying to look through the windshield and couldnt see shit. Walked around the car one time and gave up lol. Gave the suspension a work out .

Can't comment on the sunroof cause Ive never had one.
