Re: Top Speed V6 PentaStar

Wait for a tune to come out, that will be the easiest way to remove the governor.

Re: Top Speed V6 PentaStar

The tires aren't rated for that kind of speed. Even if it WERE possible to get up to 140MPH, you'd be taking your life in your hands by doing so.

IMO, there was zero reason for them to fit a 140MPH speedo to this thing. You aren't ever going to be able to reach the top 20-30% of that, and it only results in making the more "normal" speeds (0-80MPH) that much less legible.

Fully agree. They make us all use low-legibility speedometers just so the top number can be some mythical figure. Thank God for the EVIC.

Re: Top Speed V6 PentaStar

I don't know why automakers do this either. Speedos always seem to show 40+ mph above limited speed. Silly.

Coincidently, the only car i've ever owned with a somewhat accurate speedo was a 91 Cherokee I had. Speedo topped at 80 mph, and would indicate ABOVE the last hash mark at top speed.

Re: Top Speed V6 PentaStar

I don't care if the speedo has 300mph marked, just don't cap it below what the car and go. I've only own two cars that has their speedo UNDER what the car can go. My MKZ showed 120 mph and it could really go 127mph, my Camaro shows 150 mph but it can go 151 mph.

With that being said, I've had the WK2 at 110...... its nice on a straight, flat road but it sucks on a very slight curve.... or breaking...... or a lane change. Much like my Liberty, the speed limiter on our SUVs is there for a reason. Plus your tires isn't rated for high speed use a blow out at 100+ is almost a sure death.

Re: Top Speed V6 PentaStar

Hello,

In some states in Mexico, we have roads with straight 100-300km (Baja, Sonora, Sinaloa)

Vehicles used for issues of protection, the state police in Tijuana, Baja, Mexico.

dodge RAM 2007-2009, 5.7 v8 hemi with superchip can reach 200km / h easily.

Running is not always a 200km/h, just for when you need your vehicle to resolve a situation of personal safety.

Mauricio

Re: Top Speed V6 PentaStar

I wish they would remove the top speed of the Hemi also, it is still pulling hard when the limiter sets in at 110MPH.

Of course, taking a 5000 lb. SUV above 110MPH is not something I would do for any amount of time, it's more for showing off for friends. I will say that the Hemi loves cruising on the highway at 90MPH though.

Re: Top Speed V6 PentaStar

When you're driving on a road in Baja, Mexico on your HEMI V8 and will exceed a Golf GT, a Jetta, Dodge Avenger 4C, Dodge Journey, which are not governed to 160km, it feels a little embarrassed.

2nd. if you're a police officer and police road can not use charger police version, for the road and one for unpaved roads, remember that the roads Baja (land off road with Baja 1000, Baja 500, Baja 2000, which are 500, 1000 and 2000 miles of rough terrain)

Then you decide to use a vehicle that can run on road and off road, Dodge Ram v8 hemi.

We are now testing the Pentastar v6, we work very well off road, but we are limiting road of 180km.

If I give you a ticket to a person in an avenger never be able to do because my car can only accelerate to 180 and the other 200km, remember that those who violate the law does not care about speed and have up to 5,000 km down between more remote towns, where you can not ask for support from other officers (Ensenada, Los Cabos - 1.400 miles)
