tuning 2014 wk2 v6

What are the benefits of tuning a 2014 wk2 with the v6 penta star (if any)?

Re: tuning 2014 wk2 v6

Greetings and welcome,

That is a very good question.

If you just add the tuner with out any mods to the engine you will still get some performance out of your engine. The most popular tuner right now is the DiabloSport:

Search this forum and you will find many of a review here.

This past Monday, I installed the inTune DCX as part of engine mods for my 2011. With the CAI and tuner, all can say right now, it is a totally different engine. I will be going on a short excursion this weekend and get a better feel for it. IMHO, it was worth it.

If you are interested in it and do not have any experience in engine tuning, than I would recommend purchasing from Hemifevertuning.com. As part of their services they will monitor your data log and develop a tune that suits you.

Best for now.

Re: tuning 2014 wk2 v6

I have a cold air intake on it and I really like it on the jeep... what types of numbers can potentially be obtained? if I do tune it, do I want it tuned to 91 or e85?

And will tuning the jeep void warranties

Greetings,

First and foremost, under the federal law, Jeep can not void your warranty. Jeep has to prove you did something incredibly bad that cause damage to only engine in this case. With the Diablosport, their is a provision to save your factory settings incase you have to restore them for a special service or something.

Currently, E85 with DS does not have a tune. You have the standard 87, 89-91 and 93 Octane to work with. The numbers for improvement vary with DS. You can check the charts that they offer for reference. It all depends on how it is tuned. This can be anywhere from 5 to 20 with your CAI.

Best for now.
