Every time I talk to someone at Chrysler or the service department I get different answers.
The main difference is the windage tray.

Two of the four vehicles at my dealer with the identical problem (dipstick not reading full until a quart overfilled) had the old oil pan. One had the problem with the old pan and still had it with the new one. The other had the new pan, as does mine. It's not a pan issue.

I had in my hands both the new and the old. They are the same only difference is the inside configuration. No bigger or deeper either or nothing.

Guess that is why when I change my oil 7 quarts only takes it to the add line and it takes 7 3/4 quarts to get it to the full line (not over the full line just to the full line). Full is not over filled it is full, or in this case it is over filled because the dipsticks are using the wrong dipsticks in these jeeps it now appears. So I guess the right thing to do is put in the prescribed 7 quarts and let it sit on add a quart when you are done, nice that never sat well with me. lets get their official word on it but I bet there will be a wrong dipstick tsb out in a few months.

I would use mobil 1 and this oil pan doesn't fit the 3.6L
