Don't assume you're the only one with imagination when it comes to engines. Enjoy either way.

Re: V-6 or V-8, regrets?

The 2013 Durango R/T Hemi as tested on the video is rated at 5331 lbs. A 2013 Overland Hemi is rated at 5264 lbs. Not quite a big difference. What some people seem to have failed to grasp was the location of the test. They pretty much emphasized the test was being conducted at 5,000 ft and at those altitudes the Hemi is as ordinary as a V6 as far as 0-60 times, no matter how many trinities or interceptors you hook on them.

The only mark in the plus column for me and the V8 personally would be that gorgeous exhaust note. But our use is as a family hauler, not a tow vehicle or "fun truck."

But I can see the argument. It has been noted that no one ever said, "you know, I think I should've gotten the smaller TV set."
In this case I would be saying "I should have bought the LED TV instead of this CRT".

Towing heavy, wanting power, and don't care about gas mileage...get the V8

Want MPG, tow some, and good with the power it provides...get the V6

Re: V-6 or V-8, regrets?

This is my confession: I went with the V8 in my '14 GCL because my favorite car EVER was a '97 Taurus SHO; the sound of that V8 and the top-end power going from 60-90 on the highway brought me a sense of happiness that I can still get, sort-of, even as I'm hauling the family and all our gear on vacation trips.

That is probably the best reason I've heard so far for getting the V8: "brought me a sense of happiness".

Re: V-6 or V-8, regrets?

v8 wk2 here, and my only regret is i didn't get an SRT8 6.4lt.

I tossed up between the diesel and v8 as the diesel turbo was quicker from 0-100 and used less fuel, sometimes on a long trip i wished i had that diesel, but then i wind down the window and boot it and thank f*** i didnt buy that diesel hehe

I don't believe for a minute that the diesel is quicker than the hemi from 0-100km/h. A couple of threads in this section showing 0-60 times of high 6 and low 7 seconds (add a couple of thenths for the 0-100 maybe). So the 8.7 secs for 0-100 on the Jeep Aus web site really is curious to say the least.
