Having driven both quite extensively (rented a V6 and drove from TN to TX) and test driving numerous V8s, I have to agree that there is no remote comparison. This is why I ultimately purchased the V8...otherwise I believe I would have always regretted purchasing the V6. However, my previous vehicles have been a '93 V8 ZJ, '96 V8 ZJ and '04 V8 Chevy Tahoe, so I may be a bit biased.

What I don't understand is why the Wrangler V-6 has a higher HP count than the GC and it has a 6-speed auto iirc?

It doesn't. The Wrangler has 5 fewer horsepower than the GC.

Means nothing to this car, it is great as it is. I would prefer factory made and tested shark f'in antena and better transmission on this car. Diesel should be available day one!

V-6 uses 6 spark plugs in 90,000 miles. Hemi uses 48 spark plugs.

Hemi option is +$2,195 compared to the V6, so what's your point? That was never a consideration when purchasing...everyone knows you gotta pay to play!

Are you being serious? Had I known I had to change spark plugs in my Hemi, I would have not bought it. The maintenance is over the top for this Hemi, what a POS. And something with the ability to tow 7500 lbs only gets 21 MPG on the highway, oh the horror.

Re: V-6 or V-8, regrets?

I just got back from driving a 1200 mile trip in the V6. Not once did I feel like I didn't feel like I had enough power. In a 5000 pound car i can't see the need for anything faster. I would rather them tighten up the suspension some though. A bit to much roll.

Re: V-6 or V-8, regrets?

In my opinion, neither is optimal. The Hemi does not have a ton of grunt and I agree with the poster above, the maintenence is a bit unrealistic when compared to other vehicles in its class.
I had an '07 MB CDI, it had considerable "pull" (torque) AND got 25 mpg regardless of the driving conditions...
I primarily opted for the V8 due to the smoothness and quiet operation. I am not overly impressed with its acceleration though.
