Re: V6 (Pentastar) Catch Can

I was local, so I was fortunate enough to be able to drive back to BT and request another fitting. I had my local shop install it when he told me I needed another fitting. A series of slaps on the forehead, lol.

Re: V6 (Pentastar) Catch Can

I sent Billet Tech an email telling them that maybe they should add an option for a 3.6L specific kit since they 3.6 market seems to need a catch can just as much as the Hemis do.

That included two fittings, and that they could tell the buyer they had to supply their own piece of 5/8" pipe.

Waiting for a response.

****** EDIT*******

They responded that they will pass it on to the production manager ...... not sure what that will mean for future 3.6l buyers.

Re: V6 (Pentastar) Catch Can

Thanks for the info. I'll probably add mine once all my other issues are taken care of. I plan to fab my own bracket -- as I'm not paying BT $35+shipping for a straight piece of aluminum with 3 holes in it.

Re: V6 (Pentastar) Catch Can

So incase your wondering.. I have had mine on for exactly two weeks and there was a 1/2 inch of oil when I checked it today. So if anyone is skeptic this is a good investment ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1403294735.456071.jpg

Re: V6 (Pentastar) Catch Can

This was after two days.

But my commute includes up hills.

3,000 miles since the last oil change and a quart short according to the dipstick.

Changed the oil in the '11 two weeks ago and drained only 5 quarts.

Looking to add my catch can off my previous hemi to the V6. Is this the 5/8 to 1/2 adapter you need to put in the rubber piece where the pcv valve is?

Yes that will work..... I am not partial plastic since the heat and oil make them brittle over time. I stuck with brass but yes the is the size you need.

Im still curious how a catch can will help the 3.7 (i know, not a pentastar) but i havent seen one on a 3.7. Still have 6 months to wait before i can think of installing it....

Good to hear that the 3.6 can shows results in only a week. Guess that means that the 3.6's PCV valve is not all that great. Hows the weather there and your driving habbits? They effect how much a catch can collects. Oh how many miles on the engine?

Re: V6 (Pentastar) Catch Can

Lots of stop and go driving and short trips. 1100 miles on engine. Temps have been in the low 80s.

Stop and go will cause more blow by gasses so i guess that will be the reason you're seeing oils so soon. Unless the pcv is the same as the ones in the hemi. In that case, the catch can was an excellent choice.
