The supplied bracket to secure the intake near the fender is way too long and won't work, so I'll need to come up with something else.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, the air box does come close the the brake lines on mine as well. I reused one of the rubber grommets from the factory airbox and added it to the hole on the bottom of the Volant box... looked like it should go there. That seemed to help some of the interference with the hard line.
I also chose to hide the logos on the silicone couplers for a cleaner look.

Here are a few crappy iphone pics.
Sullyz: I too had the same problem with the bracket. Email New Level Motorsports and explain that the bracket is too long. They will send the correct one for free. Here is the link where I talked about the problem. Anyone else that orders this from New Level Motorsports needs to email them ahead of time to send the correct bracket.

Volant CAI - bracket too long??

Why are these things so expensive, for a bit of pipe and a $40 filter.?

Re: Volant CAI

iDave, called New Level Friday and they were not much help... in fact, the guy I spoke with was pretty short with me. Said I needed to call Volant.

EDIT: Just spoke to Volant directly and they are shipping the correct bracket.

Thanks for the thread info!

You can call Volant customer service in CA;

909-481-3888 Ext 225

Tell them your model # and shipping address & they will hook you up w/right bracket.

Re: Volant CAI

Nice... I just got mine in the mail last night and it has the long bracket as well. I will call Volant today...

To bad I still have a Volant intake for an 07 SRT-8 sitting in my dinning room that I still do not have a shipping label to send it back to them yet..... and over $500 in CAIs on my credit card.... oh wait... I still don't have my jeep back from the shop either.

F' Me.

When I called Volant on Monday for the shorter bracket the gentleman I spoke with was very helpful and friendly. Sent out the correct bracket and it arrived Wednesday.

As for fit, it was rather good. I own a performance automotive business for German cars and boy have I seen my fair share of ill fitting aftermarket components. I'd give the Volant unit pretty high marks for fit and finish, but that is based on a sample of one. There were no instructions stating to do so, but I reused one of the rubber grommets from bottom of the factory airbox and installed it in the bottom hole of the Volant unit. This helps locate the box better and raises it above the brake hard line. I'm certain that is how they intended it, but if not, it sure makes it fit better.

Re: Volant CAI

What about the marketing involve to promote it, what about the shipping cost from china, what about the box that it comes in and all the hands involve to pack it and make it look good.
Gucci sell sunglasses for $400.00 that I know as a fact they cost to produce only $7.00.
