Re: Volant CAI

So what I'm hearing is that I should put the powercore filter into my 2010 5.7 instead of the cone that comes with the Volant kit even though the Volant tech rep told me that "it won't fit"?

I'll take that to mean K&N really doesn't have a response to the fact that their oiled cotton gauze filters really don't filter all that well when compared to OEM paper or aftermarket synthetic media filters!

Don't hate me because I've posted the facts..... but it is your right to hate your engine, while feeding it all that extra dirt you wouldn't be if you chose to use a better filter. Like the Donaldson Power Core dry media filter Volant offers with their CAI kits!!!!

Re: Volant CAI

77070042 - I think this is the part # but have yet to be able to find one to buy & install. I have been looking - not even sure if it will fit under the engine cover without cutting it.

You're right, I've been trying to compare the two. Looks like the Volant fits without trimming the engine cover vs. the Mopar CAI.

Re: Volant CAI

I emailed Volant asking if they had any plans for their CAI on our V6 engines... no response. Lol, the hunt continues

Re: Volant CAI

I installed my Volant CAI a couple days ago and I am loving the sound and the improved throttle response... will have to wait for the newness to wear off to see and mpg increase... haha!!

Anyone put one on a 2014 with a Hemi? If so, does it fit correctly and what part number?
