Re: Volant CAI

^J, I'm pleased with the Bwoody as we don't have quite the higher ambient temps here but for summer in the city. That said, this volant looks sharp and tight with a thoughtful intake off the hood snorkle. Plus a Flyin Ryan ported TB is forthcoming, heh.

Bring on the tunas!

Re: Volant CAI

a video clip with before and after installation would be really helpful, i would like to hear the difference in the sound...

also, if i am gonna buy this i'll have to get it shipped to this part of the world where i live (UAE) and my courier will charge me based on item weight, so, if someone can weigh the unit as soon as it arrives "in the box" would be really much appreciated...

I'll work on getting video. But probably won't happen for awhile.
However I can give you the shipping weight. 10LBS

Based on my measurements with the Bwoody intake (granted very crude), heat soak and IAT sensor location really didn't matter. The big thing was that it was sucking air from inside the engine bay rather than through the stock snorkle location. Looks like the Volant unit handles that situation nicely. I'd even put the Bwoody intake back on if there were a way to get it to suck air from the outside of the vehicle...
Here is a picture of the 2011 Durango at SEMA with a mopar intake that I assume is exactly the same as the 2011 Grand Cherokee will look.

well you for sure can hear the engine now. It howls. Butt dyno says it is for sure more responsive and feels like a power gain. Takes away a lot of the throttle lag and it's a lot more snappier at lower RPMs. Seems like a good mod for the price.

Re: Volant CAI

Does the engine cover need to be removed for the CAI to fit, or do you just choose to run it without the cover? I like the look of the overall design better than the others I have seen but wish the Volant logo/emblem was not so big. Any idea on if the emblem could be removed leaving just a raised black outline? Congrats on the new toy.
