Re: Volant CAI - bracket too long??

I don't know what everyone is talking about, the fit is just fine, once you angle everything properly it all comes together, just takes a little patience.

No way mine could have fit right, I sliced the bracket down and drilled a new hole in the bracket. It would have looked horrible if I would have used the original bracket.

Re: Volant CAI - bracket too long??

Have you attempted to seat the bracket UNDER the power steering fluid resevoir? That's how I installled it and everything fits perfect. I have no issues with fitment.

Re: Volant CAI - bracket too long??

UPDATE: Sorry I didn't post this earlier but I was on vacation.

Volant sent me the correct bracket as you can see from the picture on the left. Also, I ended up bolting the bracket under the power steering fluid reservoir as it did fit better. This took all but 30 seconds to install. If I received the correct bracket in the first place this would have been smooth. It's nothing to change out your factory air box to the Volant. So FYI, if you feel the bracket is too big, then it is. Email them for a replacement bracket.

I just received my new Volant CAI and looked up this thread regarding installation problems. They seemed to have sent me the right bracket, but the bolt seems to long and bottoms out in imbedded nut in the CAI box. In fact, if you look at the picture above, you will see that the lock washer is not compressed which is the same as what mine is looking like.

Can any of you Volant owners check to see if you have the same situation where the lock washer is not "locked"?

Thanks....
