I just finished the Volant install on my 2014 Summit. The install was fairly simple, but I also noticed the same issue. The box is touching one of the brake lines. I'm not too worried about it because the box is not putting any pressure on the brake line. My only concern would be having a warranty claim on the brake system and the dealer claiming this caused a problem.
As for the Volant, I took the Jeep out for a spin a few minutes ago and still have a grin on my face from opening her up. It definitely sounds meaner during WOT.
Just installed the Volant just right now on my 2014. Its the newer modified one too. Its cut like how you have it Hotstick.
1st question, is the grommet supposed go all the way through the hole? Because i am having the same problem, the box is basically resting on the brake line and barely resting on the peg with the grommet. the box will not sit all the way down through the grommet because the brake line is blocking it. It looks like I'm gonna have to cut the corner of the box off for it to fit all the way down. closing the hood looks like there is still enough clearance for the box, but its hard to tell....i just left it in....hopefully my brake lines wont crack...
