What to add next????

I just picked up a Trinity and now that tuning is not too far for the JGC, I wanted to ask you guys what mods to do next. I currently have a Corsa catback, K&N CAI, 85 mm ported throttle body. I have the WK2 Overland and it's my daily driver. I came off a C63 AMG and the HP difference is killing me. I thought about a twin screw SC but I have decided against it. I'm thinking ported intake and heads, and headers. Please feel free to throw in your .02. Thanks!!

Re: What to add next????

With the heads get a nice cam... That should add a bunch....

Its going to take a while for the performance market to get started as the tuners have only just now been released...

Trelos 78 may I ask why you are steering away from the SC. I have been waiting for the tuner for that exact reason thought a nice 6psi would wake the old summit up a little.

Re: What to add next????

JR......I would love the SC but I would never enjoy it. NYC is full of stop and go traffic IMO it doesn't make sense. If I lived in the suburbs, no question a whipple twin screw would be ordered lol
OO......the cam was a nice suggestion. Thanks

Re: What to add next????

Sounds like you should have bought the SRT. In the end, you'll be spending that much (or more) anyway.

Re: What to add next????

Not really KK.........when I bought the Overland in October of 2011, the SRT8 was not available and when it came out it had a sticker price of 63k vs the 43k I paid for mine. If I would invest 20k into mine I would be looking at 600hp to the wheels. I've spent about 3k so far on all the mods and i think cam heads headers combo should be about 3-4 more. That should put me close to 500hp. I would be happy with that.

Re: What to add next????

You also blew (or will blow) your powertrain warranty. How much is that worth? With your planned mods, I'm thinking you'll still be a lot slower than SRT at the track. It will be interesting to find out though...

I'd be pretty amazed if you could get 600 HP to the wheels (about 720 at the crank) from heads, cam and long tube headers. I think you'd be lucky to get 425 to the wheels (about 510 at the crank).

If it was me I'd upgrade to an SRT 8 before I'd start doing major modifications heads/cam/headers or forced induction. Now if I had an SRT8 then I would certainly be looking into those options.

Re: What to add next????

I was referring to the 20k difference between srt8 and overland. If I invested 20k into my car it would be way faster than an srt8. My good friend invested 17k into a wk1 hemi and with a vortech he was at 604 to the wheels, but he did MAJOR work all around( heads, gears cams etc). My hemi was stock 360hp and 390tq. If, after all the mods I am near 500 I will be extremely pleased. As far as powertrain warrantee goes, I do see the point that's why I think I will get a costum tune. To ensure that I do not detonate the engine.

Um as soon as they offer a tune for the WK2 there will be the option to put an Eaton SC on the 5.7. If I remember correctly 8 psi should net you about 160 ish HP at the wheels. That plus the 345 HP already to the wheels should get you right at 500HP at all 4 corners. That would be a pretty good match up to the 475 crank HP of the SRT 8.

May I ask where you are getting the 345 already to the wheels from? I have dyno'd my Jeep and its only getting 262 to the wheels.
