Re: Whats your choice of oil for your WK2?

well since I live in the deserts of Dubai,
I'll be sticking to what the dealer offers to avoid voiding my warranty
3yrs or 60K Kilos

they use Mopar Semi-synthetic 5w20, after that I'm going 5w30 full synthetic to test it. if I don't like I will switch to 5w20 full synthetic

if I like it I'm sticking to it.
and will update you all

But FYI, both 5w20 or 5w30 won't hurt, manual from here attached with MDS

I would use that as well, except for the fact my Wal-Mart doesn't carry it. I keep checking, but so far no deal.

Amazon carries it also cost a little more through them though. I think it was like $100 for three 5 quart jugs last time i looked a while ago.

What does the "ultra" get me, that the regular Platinum doesn't do/have?

And, FWIW, for those in the "states", Advance Auto Parts is currently running a sale on the Pennzoil Platinum oil. A 5 quart jug of the oil, and a Purolator BOSS oil filter for $29.95........

Ultra gets you special gremlins that milk you for $3 more dollars a jug. But in seriousness its just their top of the line synthetic im sure its no more necessary than usung synthetic at all but for $27.97 for ultra instead of $24.97 for regular i just buy it. Its the same stuff they use in SRT just a different viscosity.

Re: Whats your choice of oil for your WK2?

I drive so little I never get the whole good out of an oil change. (Under 3,000 miles a year). So I just change oil and filter twice a year. It's more of a time than a mileage thing. So the cost isn't a big factor either way.

Synthetic has gotten so cheap now adays its not as much of a thought any more. The difference for an oilchange between pennzoils cheapest dino oil and their very best ultra synthetic is a lousy $15 bucks. I also do 2 changes per year. So $30 a year additional in oil for a vehicle i intend to keep a very long time is a small price to pay.

Re: Whats your choice of oil for your WK2?

You can get it here for $101(including the $10 rebate) for three 5 quart jugs.

http://www.amazon.com/Pennzoil-55003...+platinum+5w20

Best Price is Walmart though $27.97 and free shipping if you buy 2 or more of them. They are out of stock now though so Amazon above is next best price.
