Which CAIs run dry filters?

I'm looking to get a CAI, but only want one with a dry filter. Which brands offer dry?

I believe Mopar uses a dry filter, because on the instructions it came with it says do not oil it. Lol.

Re: Which CAIs run dry filters?

Volant is dry, or they have a dry option

Re: Which CAIs run dry filters?

Volant, Mopar, AEM, Airaid, aFe all have dry filters. Some are optional, so make sure you specify when ordering.

Is a dry filter better than oiled performance wise?

Re: Which CAIs run dry filters?

My AEM was dry, my Volant is dry. It seemed like the issue with oil was around the oil getting on the mass air sensor but I don't know how real that was. I ran a K&N with an oiled filter but just prefer the non-oiled.

I would go as far to say that the actual air movement performance has more to do with the filter itself not if it's oiled or not.

Others may disagree.

Re: Which CAIs run dry filters?

Performance-wise, oiled sometimes flows better. But, you wouldn't notice the difference. If it flows more, it might also be letting more gunk (dirt) in. Once you go dry, you won't want to go back to oiled-gauze. I'm not afraid of them (ran them since '95), but they are just a pain to maintain.

That's good to know. I had a k&n drop in filter in my last jeep and it was gr8 performance wise but a pita to maintain.

Re: Which CAIs run dry filters?

I like the Donaldson Power-Core (dry) filter you can get with the Volant.
