Re: Why do people feel the need to tell us they have an Overland?

When discussing your engine (as an example since this is in the engine performance area) saying that you have an Overland or a Laredo is like saying that you have a red truck vs. a green one.

In 1981 I started in insurance claims. This reminds me of one of the first accident reports I took. When I put the policy # in the computer and the screen showed two cars, I asked the woman which car was involved in the accident. She said, "My husband's".

Re: Why do people feel the need to tell us they have an Overland?

I personally always mention exactly what vehicle I have. I know what your saying that somethings might not matter which model you have, but why wouldn't someone? If we are discussing cars its always nice to know what exactly what people have or are discussing.
I don't care what anyone says, there is a huge difference between a Grand Cherokee Overland, and a Grand Cherokee Laredo, and even more so between those and an SRT. I like it when people state exactly what they have.

Some of us like the work horse Laredo with QLII and a Hemi. Just depends on how many bells and whistles some folks want on their WK2.

Its funny how, speaking for myself, we tend to addicted to the bells and whistles over time.

Speaking as an Overland owner, I am happy to share my experiences with WK2 owners of every ilk, even those of a lower social caste.

Good one!

Seriously, while I love my Overland, it's just what best met my personal requirements. I don't think I go out of my way to mention the distinctions, except when they're pertinent to the discussion.

Now, if I had an SRT I'd be rubbing it in everyone's face...

And I'd be bragging on my gas mileage.
