HPF tune the Jeep on a dyno. It's quite a lengthy process
The tune cost me $990.00. Very happy with the performance and economy

Cheers Craig
Thanks Craig. Found it $1195. Have contacted them. Trouble is I'm on the central coast, NSW, so maybe have to skip the dyno.
We'll see what they say.

Had a look under mine today....... has a CAT as far as I can see. Ugly thing...... hangs slightly lower than anything else under the car!

It's a BANKS MONSTER EXHAUST 2014-15 GRAND CHEROKEE ECO-DIESEL - CHROME TIP which I'm looking at on ebay.

Thanks
A: Yes
B: Slightly
C: No
D: No

You could get a exhaust shop cut the 2 1/4 off where it goes from 3 inch and have a 3inch dual made up probably alot cheaper or speak to Matt at Horse Power Factory they now have a 3 inch exhaust.

I would put my money into a tune kw per $ is money better spent.

Cheers

There is lag. I turned off the HDC in the EVIC settings and a lot of lag was reduced. If you already did that, then this is the property of the stock tuned single turbo.

The Banks exhaust is prolly the best priced for the bang, but I am still apprehensive about it and others that do not provide any dyno curves. I called Banks and asked for dyno curves and they were upfront and said they didn't exist but they certainly did make airflow measurments which are indicative. Indicative or not, a 4WD dyno pull isn't hard to get if you want it.
I removed my mufflers and noticed more top end performance in upper RPM's but nothing down low (linky). My thoughts are a good tune is what these motors need; the CAI and exhausts make a little more power but tuning is where the real gains can be achieved.

That's weird, that the HDC would effect the lag. WDF ??? But........
I'll give it a go in the meantime.

Definately getting a tune first. If it cures the lag and I get an increase in power, I will be happy. After that, who knows.

What did you replace your mufflers with?

Excuse my ignorance but what is HDC? Hill Descent Control?

Re: WK2 3.0 litre eco-diesel 3 inch exhaust

I don't understand why you would have HDC engaged unless you were off road and driving slow. I also don't understand how is makes the turbo laggy. It's speed controlled depending on what gear you are in from my understanding. I haven't used it yet as I haven't been offroad in the 1200km I have done. But on all the other vehicles I have had is it for what it is called. To control your speed on decent to stop the car running away down hill.

Variable vane turbos close the vanes on the turbo inlet at slow speed to build boost quicker then open as boost and load increases. Hence reducing lag not like turbos of the days gone by.

That's what my questions are directed at. That post. It doesn't make sense to me so hoping can be explained.

Re: WK2 3.0 litre eco-diesel 3 inch exhaust

Can't remember how/why. I bet if you search the threads for HDC you find it. All I know is turning it off reduced the lag.

These forums are smack ass full of accurate info. Take a moment to search the forums when some potatoe-head like me says something that sounds incredulous. Lol, most of the time it's baloney, but a lot,of times you'll find the poster is just paying it forward.
