WK2 3.0 litre eco-diesel 3 inch exhaust

Anyone know if this 3 inch exhaust will.....

A: Improve turbo lag
B: Improve performance
C: Be overly noisy (since rear mufflers are done away with)
D: Be a problem fitting to a 2014 Aussie Overland

It's a BANKS MONSTER EXHAUST 2014-15 GRAND CHEROKEE ECO-DIESEL - CHROME TIP which I'm looking at on ebay.

Thanks

WK2 3.0 litre eco-diesel 3 inch exhaust

there's people that chopped the exhaust parts out already with little sound difference. seems to save around 20lbs of weight.

Turbo lag? I haven't noticed any turbo lag, there is a delay in the trans engaging when cold. There is a guy in Melbourne doing 3.0 diesel tunes and exhaust replacement:

Exhaust for WK2 Diesel - AUSJEEPOFFROAD.COM - AJOR

WK2 CRD-Flash tune result - No Chips to be seen!

Yes Benno,
Definitely turbo lag, thinking of getting this, Jeep WK Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD Common Rail Module & Pedal Torq Package. A mate of mine with a L/Cruiser V8 said it fixed his.

Here's what they say on ebay....

MONSTER® EXHAUST, 3.0L

2014-15 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L EcoDiesel
Bigger pipes and bigger tips is what you get with this all-new Monster exhaust system. Constructed entirely of heavy-gauge stainless steel, Banks Monster features a supersized, 3-inch tailpipes (compare that to the stock 1-7/8" pipes!) with a stainless tailpipe tips polished to a mirror finish—or get it in the new black finish! Tip outlet size is 4-3/8" versus the stock 3-1/2" tip. Need another reason to Banks your Jeep? There's a 16 lb weight reduction over the original equipment!

Monster virtually eliminates backpressure from the diesel particulate filter back, for more power and efficiency—and a civil exhaust note. An added bonus is the fact that the reduced backpressureincreases turbocharger response--who doesn't love that?!

Includes: Y-Pipe assembly; Left Tailpipe assembly (two hangers); Right Tailpipe assembly (two hangers); Small Parts kit (4x 3" Band Clamp; 1x 2.75" Band Clamp); 2x Exhaust Tips (Chrome or Black); Owner's Manual; 2x Banks decal

I don't see any, its a low pressure turbo, I drop mine into 2nd doing 1500rpm and floor it, no flat spot in revs.

Perhaps there is a problem with yours, what revs do get lag?

Just taking off from idle at lights there's a slight delay, then it rockets! When I'm on the move it's not too bad when I give it a bootful. My first turbo car and being used to smooth acceleration, maybe I'm too pedantic!

Yeah, that is the trans, the torque converter can take a while to engage. But you will see revs come up as you push the pedal, even though you aren't moving.

Is that right Benno? That never occured to me. I'd just presumed it was the turbo. The 8 speed shouldn't do that, right?

It seems to be the way it is. They may be making some changes on the MY16, I see they are adding a trans oil heater.... I certainly notice it more when cold than when its fully warmed up. The torqit pedal kit may help, I've just started slamming the accelerator to get it to bind up, then back off when it engages, which is probably what the pedal kit would do anyway.

They may need a transmission oil heater in the states but I can't imagine we'd need it in Aus. More like a bigger trans cooler!
Have you heard anything about the Torqit Chips. The Jeep pulls my 3 tonne + van amazingly but I still want more power!
