X pipe with muffler delete OR Reso delete?

help a brother out! i hate to bother but need your collected help! I just bought a 2011 5.7 anniversary edition WK2 and want to hear the hemi but not lose any power/torque. I have read a LOT of stuff so far and need help deciphering dropping the suitcase muffler for a X-pipe or performing a reso delete?Their are TONS written but has anyone done both? Which has the best sound but doesnt lose power/torque?

I had a few WK1 Jeep SRT8's and learned quickly that after a ton of time and playing the stock exhaust performed extremely well. The only thing that was CLOSE but louder was an X pipe where stock muff was and super 44's at the back where the Reso's were BUT it was aggressive.... I would LOVE to have someone's experience keep me from wasting a lot of time on the WK2.

TEACH ME! Will be getting a CAI and Diablo tune in a few months.

you could try solo performance with the x pipe, will need it to be a custom setup tho, Idk if they (solo performance )makes a kit for you

Pm ed you but I was going to add that both Summit and Jets makes x pipe kits that are very easy to work with on just about anything including our WK2's!

Thx everyone. I had bought the Lawson industries x pipe and used on my SRT8 wk1 paired with flow super 44's and they were awesome. I am going to try using the stock reso's with the x pipe then add flowmaster super 50 or dynomax super turbo if the stock reso's aren't deep enough..

Re: X pipe with muffler delete OR Reso delete?

UPDATE - Had the Xpipe installed, muff removed and left the stock reso's. The sound is more of a higher pitched sound but much better than stock. At WOT its very tinny. A great temporary mod for me but ordered a set of the Super 50 series and will have installed where the resos are and advise. Their was a little increase in performance. The Xpipe is definitely a great addition and sounds nice as long as you dont like to go at full throttle but i personally like a deeper sound.

What x-pipe did you go with? Do you have a sound clip?

Re: X pipe with muffler delete OR Reso delete?

The Lawson industries 66925. i have used it a few times now on different vehicles. Works very well. Here is the link below.

Amazon.com: Lawson Industries 66925 Stainless Steel Stamped X-Pipe: Automotive

No sound clip. Everyone's mic's are so tough to decipher the sound from. Here is the one from "bumpinjeep".

Re: X pipe with muffler delete OR Reso delete?

returned yesterday from having the Reso's replaced with the Dynomax Super Turbo 17733's ($40 each) and 4" Pro Elite stainless steel resonator tips ($20 each). They look and sound amazing. Remember this is removing the stock muff and reso's and replacing with the X-pipe and above muffs and tips. Total spent with replacing all with 2.5" pipe was $300. with update with pictures later today. Here is a good video representing the sound. Sounds awesome outside and has an excellent inside rumble and most importantly NO interior drone..
