'14 Summit factory 20s keep packing with snow...tips?

I love the 20s. They look great. But...their design is so "open" that they keep getting packed with snow. Today the snow had them so out of balance it felt like the whole truck was bouncing when I hit highway speed. I had to pull off, and knocked a couple pounds of snow/ice crap out of each wheel.

Anyone have any tips to keep this stuff from building up in there? Like maybe a coat of lard or something??

If you drive a lot in snow, particularly where the temperature gets well below 20, just buy a set of better rims. I don't know of a "dish" style rim in 20" but they tend to be more immune to snow packing than pretty much any other style except solid steel.

I've tried really heavy wax and all it does it makes it a bit easier to kick the ice hunks off.

Never tried lard... but it ain't that soft at colder temperatures so I wouldn't expect it to beat wax much...

Try waxing your wheels which will also keep brake dust down. If that doesnt work spray with Pam.

I have used Pam on my snow shovel with wet heavy snow and it just slides off.

Winter tires and rims! Keep those beautiful 20's sharp for the Spring.
