17" wheels on Altitude?

I was curious if 17" wheels off of a WK ('05-'10) would fit on my '15 Altitude? I'm considering buying some to put a nice set of snow/winter tires on.

Wrong offset. Depending on the brakes the US Altitude may be optioned with, it is possible that they will not fit over the calipers anyway.

17"s are no go in AU as everything we get has the bigger brakes specified.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 17" wheels on Altitude?

As long as it doesn't have the heavy duty brakes, the 17s should fit fine.

Not many folks run 17" wheels on the JGC, although they are standard on the most base trim level. That could account for the lack of response.

Re: 17" wheels on Altitude?

As already said, if you have the larger HD brakes, that will be the first problem to look for and the 17's will not fit over them. If you don't have them, they will probably fit.

Next to look at the wheel specs. Are the WK wheels you are looking for 5x127 (5x5) and what offset? What size tires are going to go on them?

Lots of variables here that could make or break the set up you want and need to be aware of.

Yes they are 5x127, not sure on the offset; they are factory wheels off a WK. Was looking to run 245/70/17s.

Depending upon the offset then, you are probably okay using those, but you may need a spacer to clear the caliper if they have too low of an offset.

Re: 17" wheels on Altitude?

after some searching I found that the offset for 2011-2015 JGC is 56.4mm and for 2005-2010 it was 50.8mm on the 17s. Will this work?

I have a feeling they will most likely fit with no problem if those are the specs, but I can't say for sure. They seem close enough to WK2 OEM offset that it wouldn't alter the fitment very much. Width of the wheel could make a difference too...I didn't see that number listed, so just be aware.

Re: 17" wheels on Altitude?

Did you resolve this? I am also thinking 17" rims to go with Cooper Discoverer A/TW LT245/70R17
On a Moteigi rim
