So I had the stock 18' rims insert area painted body color.

Give a more custom look, stays with factory fittment, and minic's the spoked look of the 20".

I did the same thing thanks to "Uncle Paul" - The rims look great painted. Here are some pics of mine painted.

Re: 18" vs 20" wheels

And I don't agree with 20 having a harsh ride. They have a good street ride but harsh is really pushing it. I have 35 profile on my BMW and that's more harsh but still comfortable. 55 profile feels like pillows and 18 feels almost unsafe with the tire wobble in a corner. Like walking in moon boots vs sneakers. Or dress shoes for the bmw.

Re: 18" vs 20" wheels

When I was picking out my WK2 I had the same conflict, but went with the 20" because it made the Grand look so much better. Also, since I would have had to upgrade the Michelin "slidealots" anyway if I went with 18" wheels, by going to a 275/55R20 I can get an extra .75" of tread to wheel rim clearance compared to the extra 1" that I would have from the 18". Of course the 18" can give you even more wheel rim clearance if upgrading the 18" tires, but there is still the fabulous look from the 20". The 20" wheels are classy and match the vehicle better. IMHO.
