20" Cooper Discoverer A/T3 tires on a WK2?

Is anyone running with 20" Cooper Discoverer A/T3 tires on a WK2? If so, what is your tire size, is there any rubbing, is your suspension standard or Quadra-Lift or modified/lifted?

Cooper does not make the Discoverer A/T3 in 275/55. (Cooper Tire & Rubber Company - Discoverer A/T3™)

They do offer it in:
- 265/60-20 with an O.D. of 32.52"
- 285/55-20 with an O.D. of 32.36"
... and some other 20" sizes but the ODs are greater than 33".

It is my understanding that the max OD on a WK2 should be 32", is that about right? I am running Wrangler Duratracs in 275/55-20, and the OD is 31.9". They almost never rub. The only rubbing is with the QL at entry/exit height and at a full lock turn.

I'm interested if the Cooper Discoverer A/T3 can fit a WK2 with 20" wheels. I like the wheels and want to keep the 20s, and I'm interested in that tire.

That's a great tire. Had it on my 02 and loved it. I wish they had it in our stock size.

I'm interested in the Cooper Zeon LTZ for my 14' summit but not sure they'll fit at 285/50/20. Width may be my issue, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. I don't want the 275/55 as the overall diameter is larger than the 285/50 and the 285/50 is wider so may have some issues.

I have read many times that the 285/50 will fit better than the 275/55. Only problem is there aren't nearly as many choices with the 285.

I have Cooper at3 in 275-55-20, they're pretty good tires!

Just put the AT3 on my Summit today in the stock 265/50/20 size. They looked huge before they were put on the wheels, now they look about the same as stock, just more aggressive. I'll get some pics soon.

They are a little louder than the stock tires so far, but I've only driven about 20 minutes. I think once the edges wear off a bit, they'll quiet down. Hopefully...

Generally, for any 275/55-20 tire, no rubbing. Specifically for the Wrangler Duratracs in 275/55-20, virtually no rubbing except as described in post 1. I've had them for over 25,000 miles on mine with the quadra-lift suspension.

There are many threads and people here running 275/55-20 successfully with stock suspensions. Try a search, you'll see. When I got my Duratracs I posted several pictures of my rig at all 4 QL ride heights when parked - the only QL ride height I could not get is the slightly-lowered freeway height, but still that is not as low as the entry/exit parked height. Again, search to find those.

A 32" outer diameter tire is generally the max you can go on a stock suspension in the WK2 JGC. And the JGC looks great with 32" A/T tires.

Wife's 14 Eco-D Overland with quadra-lift looks amazing with BFG KO2's in 275/55/20. Looks like a whole different vehicle. No rub that I can tell either. Had them on for 4 months or so now.

Echo, just curious, why are you looking to switch from the Duratracs to Coopers? Performance issue or just want to try something new?

Hi Beacon, I am not looking to switch. So far I am happy with the Duratracs. I am merely looking at other available options, in case there is something better.
