20" wheel corrosion

Tried doing a search and didn't come up with much. Currently I have the silver painted 20" Overland wheels which have some slight signs of corrosion or paint bumbling around the center cap. Pretty sure not much can be done on the painted style wheels but I was actually wondering about the polished version of the wheel. Found a pretty sweet deal on Craigslist and was wondering if anyone has had any luck trying to polish out the corrosion if at all possible. These are the ones I was looking at:

Re: 20" wheel corrosion

The problem with those wheels are there is drainage for the center bore. And water, salt and dirt get trapped in there.

You tend to see that type of corrosion most commonly on Toyota painted wheels after they past 7-8 years old.

They added drainage to the 2014 overland wheels center bore.

The 2011 - 2013 overland wheels are made in Korea 2014 overland wheels are made in the USAm

I saw those wheels on CL too, was going to run up and look at them last night to use for winter snow tire wheels. But when I looked at a similar set on my neighbor's GC and realized how badly pitted the metal was from the corrosion I figured these were the same condition and decided to pass. My original thought was to have a local wheel refinisher just touch them up but he said he's done so many of these wheels that the entire wheel would need a respray, at $125 per wheel.

But if you just need a second set of wheels and aren't concerned about the looks, go for it. I talked to the owner and he said they're round and true, off a 2013
