20" Wheel Damage

Please see attached photo. Any way to make this look better short of a new wheel?? Do I have to worry about tire weakness as it appears some nearby rubber came off? Sucks to have something on my new 2014 already

Re: 20" Wheel Damage

See if you have any wheel repair companies in the area would be my suggestion.

It will be difficult to fix perfectly. Id probably try to find a paint or something similar to rub into the wound that would make it less noticeable.

Then id get the tire inspected to make sure it is ok.

Something like this happened to me this weekend as well on my 2013 WK2 with 20" Summit wheels. I am waiting to hear back from two shops to see about refinishing. I think my damage looks worse to the rim. Luckily the tire has no damage at all.

I will post pictures later of the damage and of the after if I get it repaired.

Does suck, I have only 1800 miles on my Jeep since October and this just kicks you in the nuts doesn't?

There are a few posts out here where guys have had this repaired. You may want to search for these posts, but from what I recall the repairs looked good.

You want to see bad?? This happened to me a month or so ago when I got my WK2 stuck in mud.

I fixed them by using an airbrush and some Wurth paint.. Its the only paint that matches 100% to our rims.

WOW seeing that made me feel a LITTLE better (although still feel incompetent that I let my wheel hit brick coming out of my own driveway. I am not used to the extra width compared to my 2005 yet...)

Re: 20" Wheel Damage

All Alloy Wheel Repair...depending on where you live. My neighbor has the franchise in my area, I don't have a before pic, but I hit a concrete curb parking on my factory 20's, deep scratches and removed a little metal, he fixed it up for $105. He had to do a little grinding, no filler, etch prime, paint and clear. He said he's done a lot of straightening the jeep 20's, and he said they seem almost as bad as BMW wheels(he's at the local BMW weekly doing them), but I live in pothole ridden NE Ohio. He even re-did the whole wheel because he didn't like the way it turned out. I'm very anal about the car, I can't tell he did any repair.
