If a set of giant wheels are going to make you happy who am I to argue with that? Just don't get those emblems with your rim size on them ok?

Re: 2011 GC Custom Wheels

I'll take a stab at it.

I see things going the opposite of the flashy 00s. I think a cleaner, more factory looking aesthetic is the way things are moving. Less busy looking wheels in matte or brushed surfaces in metallics or painted to quietly contrast, like dark gray on a light gray car or midnight blue on a navy car. Brushed and matte finishes for trim pieces as well, instead of the chrome look thats on nearly every car. Rim sizes will become much more proportional to the cars they are fitted on, instead of just jamming the largest that will fit.

Interior wise its going to be all about the integration of electronics without them being noticed. Clean audio installs, stealthes radar detectors...things that are being done by are not widespread and without all the blinking lights and other fastnfurious bits.

The high end euro tuning community has been moving this way for years now and the rest of the market usually follows a bit later so we shall see.

I actually think Scotts ride is a great example of the clean factory look aesthetic that I think a lot of people will follow in the future. At a quick glance you might even think his truck was a factory model but a deeper look shows how thats deceiving because its clearly custom, just well thought out and well executed.

I also probably shouldn't have said everyone will think you are a tool, its just when some poorly screwed together truck with weird taillamps rolls by on massive, ugly chrome wheels I can't help but wonder how many unemployment checks that took.

Re: 2011 GC Custom Wheels

it has nothing to do with my own opinion. Im trying to be partial and think of both sides...street/stock/offroad. I just want us all to be Jeep brothers.....no matter the direction you go with modding.

And thanks for the compliment...that changes everything....LOL. Its exactly what im going for.....LOL

You just defined...stock. Congratulations.

So you think Matte finishes are the next hot thing huh? Am I resurrecting an ancient post, sorry if I am.

BTW, the Euro look goes back 30 years, likely pre-dating you. Monotone paint everywhere with the BBS mesh rims, yeah, some of us still remember it. Hell, even Pontiac tried it with their 6000 in 1985.
