2011 gc qt1

Hello I just picked up a new 2011 GC 4X4 with the QT1 about 2weeks ago and with all of the snow we been getting in Staten Island NY I have been wondering how deep can I go in the snow without getting stuck or hurt the underside

Re: 2011 gc qt1

Only one way to find out

Which tires did you get? Off-road / Stock 18s, 20s?

I'm not too familiar with QT 1. I guess that is considered "stock" AWD. I think someone said it's a 60/40 split front/rear, should be roughly equivalent to "Auto" on the QT 2 / QD 2 systems? Someone more knowledgable will chime in I'm sure.

Which means you should be able to go through a lot of snow, then a lot more with some good snow rubber.

Re: 2011 gc qt1

If he has QT I this means Laredo or Laredo X without any offroad package. He has 17" stock tires if he has plain Laredo or 18" if Laredo X

Re: 2011 gc qt1

Ahh, good point. I haven't seen any reports from the folks with 17" tires regarding snow. Odd, you would assume most Jeep sales would be Laredos and we'd have more info. I guess the people who come to this forum aren't "average" buyers

I have an Overland with 20s and got stuck in snow x2. It was about 12 inches of snow. I was on the snow setting and was kind of surprised.

Re: 2011 gc qt1

I have the Laredo E (QT1) with the 17" wheels on the stock Goodyear Fortera HL tires. QT1 works flawlessly and so far the tires perform great in snow. I haven't been able to drive in really deep snow (10+) but have driven in as much as 6" without a problem, albiet the tires only have 3000+ miles.

In the snow mode you cant raise the QL. Tried to do 4 lo with no success. Oh well lesson learned.

Hmmm, pretty sure I've raised my QL in snow mode.
ETA - Now that I've thought about it a little more, I'm positive I've spent plenty of time in OR1 and OR2 while in Snow mode.

Re: 2011 gc qt1

I did 12" of snow with my Laredo X with OR2. I was in snow mode at the highest QL setting. It was slightly up hill and a bit iffy, but it worked. I was dragging a little, but it was fresh snow. I have the Latitude rubber.
