Question 2011 Overland rear clunk gone for now....

so someone tell me why this worked as I have not found a cut away diagram of the shock set up. I am also not under the kool aid influence yet to think this will work long term but maybe. .......? I am on my third pair of replacement shocks and shock mounts. Last set about 6 weeks ago and clunk never left but they had to be replaced as the LR ruptured a seal and leaked so much oil it made a large pool under the vehicle. I saw the old tsb which seemed silly a long time ago but based on where the noise was coming from, I thought "why not". Jacked up, pulled dust cover and joust bumper down. I took my grease gun with a heavy lithium grease and put a bunch of it where the joust bumper fits into and on the shaft of the shock there as well. Put everything back together and no more noise. Obviously that's where it's coming from so someone who has more knowledge of this suspension tell me what that accomplished-even though it may be short lived.

Excellent attempt; let us know how it works out over time. I am so desperate to get rid of that noise that I would try any solution.

By the way, any pictures? That would help to find the right spots.

Re: 2011 Overland rear clunk gone for now....

Well, it was completely quiet until an hour ago. I heard a tiny little pop pulling into driveway where I go over a raised lip. I backed up and down several times and it made the same noise each time--not like it was but definitely there. I'll post back with any changes.
