2011 Overland WK2 - BFG KO2

Howdy new friends,

I have a 2011 wk2 overland with QL. My stock Fortreras (265/50r20) are about done. I am considering strongly the new BFG KO2's. I have read on the forums that folks have upsized to 275/55r20s without any issues. Before I pull the trigger, I would like to know if anyone has any experience with this tire, on the Overland WK2 w/QL?? Any rubbing or fit issues? I would also appreciate any reports on the level of noise with this tire. It seems great otherwise, my only concern is road noise.

Thanks y'all!

Re: 2011 Overland WK2 - BFG KO2

I had those tires on a 4Runner and liked them. I read some reviews, though, that rated the Hankook Dynapro 2 and General Grabber 2's both higher. The reviews basically said that BFG hadn't changed in a while and others have surpassed them. I'm going to try and talk the wife into Dynapro's when her GY's are toast.

Not exactly what you are looking for but I just installed a set of 275/55/20 KO2's on SRT reps the other day. It fits without rubbing on my Laredo. Can't say how it will be with QL, but most likely you will be very close in park mode.

Road noise is also increased noticebly but I completely expected this when I switched. Hard to quantify the extra noise, but you can definitely hear the tires hum with the windows up.

Are you looking at AT or MT?

I was looking at the AT KO2. They are LT tire instead of P, so much higher capacity rating (I think 116 vs 109). I want an increased capacity since I tow with it, but they at 16 lbs per tire heavier..... That is a lot of unsprung weight. I'm a little scared it will ruin shocks and suspension components that weren't designed for that load......

How many miles on them?

How much effect on milage?

No noticeable degradation in the shocks? Or did you upgrade when they went on?

I have 15000ks on the Nitto's, as for mileage they went on on day one so not sure on the effect but I have a diesel and in Oz that is a good thing with diesel cheaper than petrol.

If you're still looking for more info on noise, MPGs, rubbing, and tons of other stuff, check out my post in this thread: 275-55-20 BFG T/A KO2 on stock rims

lots of pics in earlier posts on that thread, too.
