2011 WK2 Diesel Loss of drive

Today I was on the beach and then suddenly in "Sand mode" and the loss of traction light flashed (although in sand setting is turned off) and I lost drive to the front axle.
The FCW light inoperative and the SERV 4WD were also illuminated

Has any body else experienced this?

Costa

You haven't said where you are, but I am assuming as you have a 2011 CRD and were on sand that you are in Australia.

Here is an entire thread on the issue, in the Export section where most Australians converse.
Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Download this

Take it to your dealer and ask for it to be applied.
It fixes the problem.

I've heard of this from other users and this has been mentioned in various 4WD mags. I took my 2011 GC to Chrysler who were aware of the issue and gave me a transmission software upgrade. I've not yet been on sand to test it out.
