2011 wk2 transmission slip?

So I bought a 2011 wk2 5.7 about 6 months ago used and I went in for oil change today and guy at dealership tells me transmission is making terrible noise and needs replaced or rebuild but it's not covered under warranty.

The 3 year 35k is over I guess it's been three years since first owner bought it new.i really don't know.

I noticed a month or two ago that it shifts hard or slips between first and second but thought it was the mds.

I put on Eibach springs, 20" spider monkey reps, k&n Cai and Corsa dual exhaust. In that 6 months.

Any advice would be great. I took it to my mechanic to let him hear it and he said ugh what's that! Told him about dealer he thinks they may be right. Part of me thinks I should trade it in and not look back.

Re: 2011 wk2 transmission slip?

My 1-2 up shift was sloppy and slow (2011 Summit 5.7). Hated it. Got a Diablosport intune and a hemifever tune. Firmed the shift up nicely. Before going while hog on a tranny rebuild that probably isn't necessary, at least get it checked out by dealer and see if there are any updates to the various control modules or if they can do any diagnostics work...

Sorry, saw you made reference to a dealership. Take it elsewhere for a 2nd opinion.
