Any pictures of the rims?

Re: 2012 GC Laredo X - Sahara Wheels - Tires...white letters out?

Of Course! Crappy cell phone pics though...

They are waiting for me to decide which color out. Then I bought a set of TPMS to have installed when they are reversed (maybe) and balanced...

Looks good. Where did you find the wrangler rims and how much I'm trying to decide if I should do 18 a/t and stock 20s for spring summer or just switch the 20s to an a/t

I like the OWL tires on an SUV personally. Ours has them from the factory...

I agree, they do look good with the coating on it. I kinda wish I did that.

For the record, I got mine on Craigslist. I negotiated $250 for all 5 from a very nice guy. They had chips and scratches, nothing major. One was perfect. I took the 4 that were not perfect to my bodyshop guy. Anyone in the Detroit area looking for a good shop, PM me. I'll sell the extra one sooner or later.

Re: 2012 GC Laredo X - Sahara Wheels - Tires...white letters out?

So last night I went to pick up the tires and have them mounted. I ended up deciding to have the black walls out. Not an easy decision, but I liked it better.

Spooked me a bit...those Sahara wheels are VERY tight to the caliper hardware on the front. However, I know that typically, all you need is the thickness of a business card of clearance and you will be fine.

I'll probably start a new thread all about them, with some updated pics when I can get them. Thanks to everyone for the advice!

Re: 2012 GC Laredo X - Sahara Wheels - Tires...white letters out?

Here are mine.

I went black letters out. I was extremely please that the sensors I bought on ebay synced up instantly.

Before:

After:

I also noticed that I gained 2" from ground to top of wheel well. I was only expecting 1"...

Re: 2012 GC Laredo X - Sahara Wheels - Tires...white letters out?

All styling elements are a matter of personal taste. What one person likes another one won't. I personally like black out because I prefer a clean look and I just don't like advertising--on my vehicles or my clothing! I also plan to remove the badging and most chrome elements from my new Overland. If you are planning to debadge and clean up the styling of your vehicle, I really can't imagine why you would want to display advertising on your tires. After your wife or girl friend curbs them a few times, they will be all messed up anyway! But then again that's just my personal opinion. It's your vehicle. Do whatever pleases your eye and your taste. If your taste changes in the future, you can always change the look. Most enthusiasts' vehicles are always a work-in-progress anyway. That's what keeps us interested!
