Question 2012 GC Laredo X - Sahara Wheels - Tires...white letters out?

First post here, but not new to the scene. I would put this in Wheels and Tires, but I think it might fit better here in appearance...

About a month ago, I bought a 2012 Laredo X in Bright Silver Metallic and I am pretty happy with it, but not with the bland factory wheels and tires.

I recently picked up a set of scratched but in otherwise very good condition 18" Sahara wheels from a 2011 Wrangler. I had my buddy who owns a body shop strip them and paint them factory Mineral Grey. I then ordered a set of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires for it as I had them on my previous GC and I liked them a lot.

My question is should I have the tires mounted with the white letters out or black letters out? I have been debating this for days.

What does everyone here think?

I prefer black. After a while the white always seems to get dirty/dingy looking so I just go with the BSW

White outside. Looks good especially if you are looking for something a bit different. In members rides show offs there's an MG Laredo with the silent Armours with the White out just can't remember name or thread name.

I am leaning toward black, but if anyone can find some pics of the white letters out, it would definitely help!

I don't mind keeping them clean and the letters white...but they do fade over time...

On a lighter car, black. I have a black GC with BFG TKO tires with white lettering out and it looks sick, but if I had a light colored car I'd go with black.

Re: 2012 GC Laredo X - Sahara Wheels - Tires...white letters out?

Buuuuut...what about a lighter color car...with darker colored wheels? That is really the crux of my dilemma.

I just don't want to be the guy who has the tire shop mount them one way, and them make them go through the BS of re-mounting them.

Can they mount 1 or even 2 tires on the same side, so you can get a feel for what its like in real life? They dont have to balance it until you give the ok so its just a matter of putting it on the machine to pop the tire on and fill it up. Then pop it back off if you want it flipped.

Not a bad idea! I am sure they can.

Re: 2012 GC Laredo X - Sahara Wheels - Tires...white letters out?

I have the same dilemma lol...

I picked up some Sahara 18" wheels and bed-liner'd them.

With my stone white Overland, I'm leaning towards the white lettering out just because the rims are black too...

But maybe not, who knows...
