Your 67 is bad ass! Nittos are hard to find around here too. Looking for the Toyos now.

Re: 2012 Laredo looking for a tire upgrade

My local tire shop (where I traded for the Michelin LTX M/S 2's) carries Nitto. Don't know where in CT you are, but I am just over 100 miles from Hartford, CT. PM me if you want info on my tire shop.

Thanks! It was bone stock when I got it. I have been building it for the past 2 years. Lots of goodies hidden behind the '67 sheet metal.

Re: 2012 Laredo looking for a tire upgrade

I did a Pittsburgh to Cincinnati trip on my brand new BFG Rugged Terrains. They are a little louder from 40-50 mpg but quiet down at normal highway speed. It was raining very heavy in Pittsburgh, like a lot of streets closed due to flooding bad, and the latitudes were hydroplaning all over the place. The BFG's were very stable, I tried hitting a puddle at 40 mph on a big parking lot and noticed no hydroplaning. I am impressed, they work good and look very good on the Jeep.

Re: 2012 Laredo looking for a tire upgrade

Online dealers like tire rack and discount-tire will drop ship to the tire shop of your choice for installation. It is often less money in the long run. I used to do this routinely when the local tire shops did not stock a tire I wanted. The locals still enjoy getting paid for the install/balance.

You should be able to find a Town Fair Tite near Hartford that carries either the Toyo's or the Nitto's. And they should price match any online deal you can find.
