2014 EcoDiesel Overland Terra Grappler G2's

Not this is much different then the Summit Terra Grappler G2 post but I thought I would throw it out there!

I will be replacing my stock Fortera's with the 265/50R20 111S XL G2's next week. What is a bit different is I have taken my OEM wheels and had them powder coated flat black to go with the new rubber; my current wheels (Hyper black SRT replica's) will stay with the Fortera's for now.

Curious about costs? Keep in mind this is in CDN:
- $1,568 for the tires (includes all tire taxes, etc. and wheel alignment, if needed), installed and balanced
-They told me roughly $272/tire
- $59/TPMS

Once I have the change over done, I will post some pics early next week.

Re: 2014 EcoDiesel Overland Terra Grappler G2's

I checked with my local kal tire (in Calgary) yesterday and was quoted 1173 installed with alignment check as well, but that's using my own tpms.

I like them!

May be a bit noisier but after the first week, cannot tell the difference from the old.

I like them as well, went for a nice dirt road drive today and they were great.

Re: 2014 EcoDiesel Overland Terra Grappler G2's

How heavy are these Nitto Terra Grapplers G2? I am looking at replacement tires for my Jeep and I find that BF Goodrich K02s may be the gold standard of off-road proficiency but ...at 50-51 lbs each they are nearly 10 lbs more than the OEM Michelins. Larger rotating mass - not good for fuel economy, for stopping distance ...for anything asphalt related where I will spend most of my time. They also seem to be consistently the most expensive...

I did a search before I bought mine here is the shipping weight, 265 /50 R20 111S XL BSW - 41lbs. My highway MPG has not gone down at all, and don't notice any difference in braking.

Thank you. Then perhaps you are the best person to give me this last piece of info. I put together a chart with info (mostly from Tire Rack and Discount Tire) with various tire parameters including Tread Width. Now, we run different size tires ( I have the 18 inch rims hence 265/60-R18) but I figure that if I insert your tire size and my tire size in an online calculator like this
https://tiresize.com/comparison/

and I know the Tread Width of your Nitto TG G2s, I can make an educated guess. Could you tell me the Tread Width of your tires?

On paper (or rather online at the link provided) our tires are almost identical in height and width so your Tread Width shouldn't be that much different for the tire sizes I am looking for. Thanks.

Sorry, I thought you were running 20's. The tread width on the 20's shows 10.7 inches

The metric size i.e. 265 mm is what dictates the width of the tire on paper but ultimately the tread width is what contacts the road. Tread width is not the same as tire width.

265/60-R18 and 265/50-R20 are for all intents and purposes identical in overall diameter, width, circumference, revs/mile. My two major choices are: Nitto TG G2 and Firestone Destination AT. I am seeking a narrower contact patch and it appears both visually and in terms of the tread width. For instance my OEM Michelines run about 8.5 inches in tread width, BFG AT KO2 about 8.7, FireStone Destination AT about 8.2 and Nitto TG G2...appear visually as fat as the BFGs. All tires have a width of 10.7 listed in tire calculators, 10.4 if you check Tire Rack.
