Interesting, it could potentially be possible to have only one wheel spin. But you should have the traction light blinking and ABS kicking in the whole time trying to fight it.

The only other thing I can think of is you reach a limit of te capability of the BTD. It might of kicked in briefly when you first got stuck, realized what was happening and the computer turned it off to prevent damage. I am speculating of course.

Midgitkilla, you mentioned that your speedo is not working, so it is possible that the vehicle has no clue that one (or any) of the wheels is spinning at all. When I had the grounding issue the speedo and none of the abs or traction control functions worked either. Once your dealer performs the recall your traction control should work properly.

Re: 2014 GC snow problem

UPDATE:

Just got my GC back from JEEP and there was a reprogram for the TCM which may be the reason my QT1 was not working correctly. I plan to go out tomorrow and try to get her stuck in the snow again to see if it works right now.

Greetings,

Great news. Just be careful of the ice.

Best for now.

Lol...mission: bury vehicle in snow. Vehicle: jeep. Mission status: fail. Can't get it stuck in snow.

I can relate a little. I was back in W. Michigan visiting family over the holidays and we got hammered with snow the entire time. One night I went to a buddies house and pulled in his driveway that hadn't been plowed. Snow was deep...opened my door and the snow was .5" below the bottom of the door. I stayed a couple hours, while more snow was falling, and when I left I put the QL in off road 2 and pulled out with zero problems. Stock tires. I'm sure the QL and QD (I have the Summit) conspired to pull me through all that with no problem.

If you hadn't had the recall done that alone could have caused it.
