Looking to add some new all terrain tires to my Overland. I'm adding the mopar rock rails next week and just want to give it a more aggressive look with some new tires. I have the QL suspension and don't want any rubbing on any of the ride heights including the entry/exit. I do plan to keep the stock 20" wheels so I'm a curious if I can go any bigger or if I should stay with the factory size of 265/50/20. Anyone have A/Ts on a white grand with 20" wheels that could share some pics? Just want to get an idea of looks and what size people run. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
There are lots of threads here detailing tire choices that will both fit the OEM wheels and fit the wheel wells when up-sized. The general rule seems to be to not exceed 32" in diameter. (OEM is 30.6" in diameter)
Ive combed through most of those threads and they have been helpful. Just posting this with the hopes that people will post some good pics of AT tires with my wheels. Also wonder if tread pattern makes a difference. Even if the tire is considered the same size would tread pattern of one tire possibly cause it to rub more than a different tire?
I just put on 22" with a 295/35/22 tire with absolutely no rubbing even in entry exit mode. I have a overland with QL and I dont think there is a difference in clearance on Summit and Overland. You could even go wider, a 305 tire with no rubbing. So im pretty sure on a 20 inch 265 tire you wouldnt have a problem going bigger sidewaall
