The 305-35-22 is probably the ideal size. The problem is that only Pirelli makes that size currently & they are pricey. Vredestein used to make that size but they've discontinued it.

I was noticing that while looking on ebay. That 385 was supposed to be 285. I may drop down to a 285-35 to save a few dollars on the tires. The .5" taller and .5" wider may not be that huge of a factor all though that extra side wall would be nice. This is my wifes jeep so trying to give it the sporty look for her.

KBMoon, the OP, went with 285-40-22's with no issues & it looked good on their GC. Check page two.

Yeah I went with the 285/40 instead of the 285/35 because I wanted to fill up the wheel well more since I wasn't going to lower my car. Also where I live has quite a few potholes and such so just wanted the extra protection. Appearance wise there's a good bit difference between the 40s and 35s.

Re: 22x10 285/40/22 on 14 Overland?

Got the wheels in yesterday. Gonna be ordering tires today. I tried the wheels on the front just to make sure nothing woukd rub. Looks like there's only 1" between the back of the wheel and the knuckle. Also, anything to much taller than factory height tire looks like it may rub the nut/bolt for the upper ball joint on knuckle. So believe the 285/35 is going to be my tire size. The 305's are almost double in price and 285/45 will be to tall.

Yeah the 285/40s looked like it was gonna interfere but it didn't. Comes pretty close.
