OEM 18" tire size is 265/60R18
With that size you would still have an accurate speedo.

I'm running the Goodyear Wrangler A/T Adventure w/Kevlar.
So far, very impressed with them in the snow (especially compared to the OEM Michelin tires!).

In that size I'd look at the Bridgestone Dueler Revo AT2, Goodgyear Duratrac.

I personally have used the Revos and have been very happy with them in wet and mild snow/slush. Some report the Duratracs better all around but I have yet to try them.

Re: 255\70\18 tire choices with ql??

Greetings,

If you still have the stocks 18's on them, drop the QL down into Park and turn the wheel to the left and get some quick measurements from the tire to the various areas of the tire well. Basically, you want get this measurement from the 9 0'clock to the 3 o'clock position. Subtract one inch from results. Next, get measurements from the wheel turned to the right. This will figure out any possible rubbing in the tire well.

The 255 size should not be a problem.

A 255\70\18 is a nice tire to cut thru the snow.

Hope this helps you to find your tire.

Best for now.

You guys running taller tires with less width than stock like the 255/70/18. Do you feel a real difference in handling with day to day driving?

Greetings,

I am running the stock size with QL so I get down low while in Park. It is easier when I have to pickup mom.

Honestly, in the top of tire tread width the OP will be dropping down from 10.43 to 10.04 inches and with height increase in the tire of 1 inch, it should not make much of a difference on the highway. This all depends on the type of tire and the associated tire compound used in the tire. With terrain conditions, it can vary to a little degree with the width. I know the Beach/Sand folks go for wider the better. This way when they air down, the get the max width for floatation.

Other will have to chime in for off-roading effects.

Best for now.

I just switched to 265/65r18e duratracs from stock 20s and was really expecting to notice the difference (v8) and wow I don't notice anything.. If anything a smoother ride (i assume because I'm going from 18 to 20)

I only drove on the stock tires for 2 weeks but I've owned a lot of TJs, JKs and F-150 and always get taller wider tires and always just live with the difference.. This.. I can't tell..
