265's on a 9 inch wide wheel

Is putting a 265/60-18 tire on a 18x9 wheel bad. I would like to do a 285/60-18 but I don't want to deal with the speedo being wrong or possibly cause tranny problems down the road.

Re: 265's on a 9 inch wide wheel

What tires??? The OEM Michelin Latitudes will go to 9.5" wide rim according to Michelin site. Why the wider wheel? Unless you really like the wheel there will be little if any real world gains in handling or braking in the dry and you may actually have slightly longer braking distances and slightly poorer handling in the wet, snow, and in some off road conditions. Wider isnt always better.

Most likely toyo open country AT 11's stock size tire. Cause fuel wheels don't come in anything narrower then 9.

Toyo makes great tires. Probably my favorite brand. They also make Nitto tires. Its like Goodyear and their off brand Kelly.

If you were in the DC area my tire guy Radial Tire beats Discount Tire and Tire Rack out the door by usually $50.

So since I have a v6 limited I could put 17's on mine correct. I don't have no off road packages. I might consider going to 17's.
