Official 275/55 20 All Terrain Tire Thread

During my search, I would have liked a single thread for info on all terrain tires in 275/55 20. So, maybe we can keep the options available, opinions and questions here for that size. I also put tread pics and links to their specs page.

Here are the four I considered:

GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armor
Standard Load 111T
GoodYear

Cooper Discoverer A/T3
Xtra Load 117T
Cooper

Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10
Xtra Load 117T
Hankook

Nitto Terra Grappler
Xtra Load 117S
Nitto

Cooper Zeon LTZ
Xtra Load 117S
Cooper

I went with the Cooper A/T3. They should be installed by the weekend.

Re: 275/55 20 All Terrain Tire Thread

Does a 32" tall tire require a lift?

Re: 275/55 20 All Terrain Tire Thread

Same size tires vary in size depending on tire brand, tread width, etc. 275/55 20 is just a few tenths shy of a 32". Again, depending in the individual tire. So to answer the question, lots of people run a 32" tire without a lift with no problems.

Re: 275/55 20 All Terrain Tire Thread

I'm running 275/55R20 Nokian Rotiiva AT (All Terrain), Extra Load 117T, all season tires.

http://www.nokiantires.com/tyre?id=1...ian+Rotiiva+AT

These are an all-season/terrain tire with Snowflake on Mountain severe service emblem for superior snow/ice traction in winter months.

Yes, I have QL. The tire is a tight fit, but no rubbing. There's another thread that shows how close the tire is to the upper ball joint. I forgot the member, but they installed the Cooper Zeon LTZ. The AT3 is just as close, but I'm not worried about it. That bolt moves in relation to the rotor/wheel/tire, so it shouldn't make any contact with it. At full lock both ways, the tire is also close to the liner. Maybe 1/2" at full lock. I drove around after the install and never heard or felt any rubbing, so it looks to be a good fit. And it looks great, too. I will get pics up as soon as I take them.

It's a good thread. I'm getting Zeons too after I do skid plates and rock sliders. Here's the thread: The new tires are on!

Re: 275/55 20 All Terrain Tire Thread

What are people doing with the spare tire when you get these bigger tires? If you don't get a bigger spare, won't it mess up the AWD if you had to use it?

I was told no it wouldn't mess it up and to treat it like a donut tire and replace it as soon as possible. I have Nitto 275/55/20 with the factory 18 spare.

But I too would like to feel better about this if others would report back.
